Documenting Identity-Based Violence: a Manual for the Sudanese Context

This Manual is intended to equip lawyers and human rights activists with a detailed understanding of key international crimes that are based on discriminatory intent. The Manual outlines the elements constituting the crimes of genocide, incitement to genocide, and persecution as a crime against humanity, and offers examples of evidence required to establish such cases, drawing on legal precedents from UN international criminal tribunals and the ICC.

This Manual was developed with funding from the Matrix Causes Fund as part of a series which also includes the Manual on Countering Identity-based violence.
