Why Run for Peace?
Right now, countless survivors of the conflict in Sudan are suffering in silence. Women, children, and entire communities have faced unimaginable violence, with over 12 million forcibly displaced, 3.3 million as refugees. Many have endured atrocities, including conflict-related sexual violence and ethnic persecution. Yet, for too many, dignity and justice remain out of reach.
At Rights for Peace, we work to ensure that survivors can tell their stories safely, can regain dignity and agency by becoming advocates for their rights and can see perpetrators held to account. But we can’t do this alone—we need your help.
The ongoing conflict in Sudan broke out on 15 April 2023 and has become one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world. More than 25 million people—almost half of Sudan’s population— face acute hunger. Famine - a situation in which at least 1 in 5 households experience extreme lack of food and face starvation, resulting in acute malnutrition and death – has been confirmed in certain areas with more areas predicted by May 2025. All this due to ongoing violence against civilians caught between two warring parties.
By setting yourself the suggested minimum target of £100 and enjoying a fun run in central London you would support victims gain access to justice, increased agency and restored dignity through our holistic approach.
